Bhaktivedanta Gurukula & International School (BGIS)

Bhaktivedanta Gurukula & International School (BGIS) was established in 1976 by world-renowned scholar and spiritual leader Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, Founder-Acharya of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).

He saw the need for a school which would fulfill the spiritual as well as academic needs of young men. It is based on the traditional concept of gurukula – wherein the student lives at the house of the guru in order to gain knowledge, proper behaviour and good qualities.
